Terms of ServiceTerms of ServiceTerms of Service

Last updated: 19 August 2026

Larceny Map is a free, independent tool. These terms set out what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and the limits of both.

Larceny Map is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. It is an independent fan project. All game names, trademarks and copyrights belong to their respective owners. See the disclaimer.

1. Accepting these terms

By using Larceny Map you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

2. What Larceny Map is

Larceny Map is a reference map and personal progress tracker. It shows locations derived from publicly available community data, lets you record what you have found, and plans routes between points.

It is a companion tool. It does not modify, interact with, connect to, or automate any game. It reads nothing from your game or console, and installs nothing on your device.

The service is provided free of charge. There is no paid tier and no advertising.

3. Your account

You can use the map without an account. An account only adds saved progress and sync.

4. Acceptable use

Please do not:

We may suspend or remove accounts that do these things. Where the situation allows it, we will tell you why.

5. What you submit

When you report a location, that report becomes part of the shared map data other people rely on.

You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, publish and distribute it as part of the service. This license continues after you delete your account, because other people's maps depend on the data — but the data carries no link back to you once your account is gone.

Only submit observations you made yourself. Do not submit data taken from another site.

6. Our content

The Larceny Map name, site design, code, and the way we present and organize the data are ours. You may use the service and its data for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not republish our data as a competing product.

7. Third-party content

Weekly in-game economy data is sourced from GrindMap under a CC BY 4.0 license, and is attributed wherever it appears. We do not control it and cannot guarantee it is accurate or current.

Map geometry is derived from publicly available community data. See the disclaimer for our position on intellectual property.

8. Availability

We try to keep Larceny Map running, but it is a free service with no uptime guarantee. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because something upstream has broken. We may change or remove features at any time.

Data shown here — particularly anything time-sensitive — may be out of date or wrong. Treat it as a helpful reference, not as fact.

9. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss arising from your reliance on information shown here.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights.

11. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time; email us using the address below and we will remove it and the personal data attached to it. Location reports remain in the shared map data, unlinked from you.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches section 4, or where we are required to by law.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's jurisdiction, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections available under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
